Rest First, Then the World

In Delhi, the mornings were so quiet I could hear the house breathing. Before the city woke up, before the phones and the traffic, my host Abba sat in stillness and meditated, every single day.
I never joined her. I simply observed, and something about it stayed with me. By the time I got home, I had started my own mornings the same way, with breathwork, meditation and thirty minutes that belong only to me.
That's what home can be: a gentle place to land, a sanctuary. Somewhere to rest first, before we wrap ourselves in what we need and step out into the world. Rest doesn't have to be earned. It can be where the day begins.
These days, my mornings start in something soft, usually my Ella Bed Jacket. Nothing fancy, just something that feels gentle against my skin while I breathe, sit and ease into the day. Rest first, then the world.
